Pilates

Abby is a fully qualified comprehensively trained (mat-work and apparatus) Pilates Teacher and offers groups classes in various locations and private lessons at The Yoga Steading.

Pilates is suitable for everyone whether you are highly active and at the top of your chosen sport less active and wanting to gain better fitness levels.

​

Pilates is a low impact form of exercise which aims to strengthen muscles, improve core strength, whilst improving postural alignment and flexibility either in  mat-work lessons or using apparatus, such as the Reformer, Tower, Chair or Ladder Barrel. 

​

The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning incorporates the 6 Principles of Breath, Concentration, Control, Precision, Centre and Flow.  Legendary physical trainer Joseph H. Pilates developed this unique exercise program in the 1920s.
